October Monthly Meeting: All About The Electoral College

Please join TEA Party Maui for its October Monthly Meeting  on Thursday, October 13th at 6:30PM.
Which Presidential Candidate will emerge victorious at the General Election on November 8th, 2016; and will it be determined by the Electoral College along with the Popular vote, or will we witness an election in which one candidate wins the popular vote while the other wins the election through the Electoral College?

The topic will be the Electoral College, including the history and process of this important institution which essentially elects our President every four years. There will be videos and timely discussion on this often confusing and obscure process as we are just weeks away from a critical 2016 Presidential election.
Drinks and snacks provided.  Bring a friend!

Our History

Coconut’s Fish Cafe opened in 2009 in Maui, Hawaii. Our small restaurant quickly became a favorite with kama’aina (locals) and tourists alike, with our family-friendly atmosphere, custom surfboard tables, exceptional food, healthy food choices, and aloha culture. In 2013, Coconut’s Fish Cafe opened in Scottsdale and has experienced the same success as our Maui location, success driven by the loyal patronage of the Coconut’s ohana. A second location in Scottsdale opened in 2015.

Recently Coconut’s Fish Cafe expanded to Texas and has been serving the same great food to the people of Plano. The family-run business in Texas is another example of Coconut’s mission to serve excellent, healthy food while sharing the aloha spirit.

Since Coconut’s Fish Cafe opened, we have received numerous accolades. In 2013, Zagat awarded us a ’27’ for food, the highest tier reserved for “Extraordinary to Perfection.” Also in 2013, we were featured in Travel + Leisure magazine in its list of “Top 100 Places to Eat Like A Local,” and CNN’s list of “Top 10 Places to Eat Like a Local” and their “Top 100 Seafood Restaurants in The World.”

Today, we are proud that every Coconut’s location has organically received 4.5+ star ratings on Yelp and on TripAdvisor.

The Growing EMP Threat and the Vulnerable State of the U.S. Electrical Grid

National Homeland Security EMP Task Force Executive Director,
Dr. Peter Vincent Pry

speaks in depth about the growing EMP (Electrical Magnetic Pulse) threat.

Dr. Pry has spent his entire professional life studying weapons of mass destruction, such as chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. He also spent a decade working for the CIA during the Cold War, and then went to Congress to work for the House Armed Services Committee in the EMP Commission.

Dr. Pry discusses how these EMP attacks can happen, what our government is NOT doing to protect our country from this very real threat, but what CAN be done by Congress, with our involvement. Also, what you and your family can do for protection, and how to survive an EMP attack.  This is not a conspiracy theory, but a national security issue, especially with the recent aggression of North Korea, and Iran being emboldened by recent deals made by this administration.

Dr. Peter Vincent Pry has written “Blackout Wars”, “Electric Armageddon”, and “Apocalypse Unknown: The Struggle to Protect America from an Electromagnetic Pulse Catastrophe”

This is a fascinating interview in a video format featured on the new LevinTV.com. It is about 45 minutes long. Please join TEA Party Maui for some important information that is not widely reported on. Dr. Pry is quoted as saying; “This is the Achilles Heel of our society and there are actions that can be taken to protect us”.
Please join your fellow patriots Thursday, April 14th at Kalama Heights.  Refreshments will be provided.

Renewable Energy: How the 100% Mandate Hurts Hawaii

Keli’i Akina, Ph. D.
President/CEO, Grassroot Institute of Hawaii

“Government Mandates vs. The Free Market”
Hawai’i is the first state in the nation to adopt a 100 percent renewable portfolio standard for the energy sector. Although renewable energy is laudable, what impact will the state’s 100% mandate have upon the business climate, consumers, and the environment?
James Taylor, Senior Fellow for Energy and Environment at the Heartland Institute holds that the 100% mandate will hurt Hawaii more than help.
Taylor has presented energy and environment analysis on CNN, CNN Headline News, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, MSNBC, PBS News Hour, PBS Frontline, CBS Evening News, ABC World News and other TV and radio outlets across the country. Taylor has also been published in virtually every major newspaper in the country.

His commentary on state budget solutions often appears in newspapers, journals, and online publications.
Bob has spoken at a number of TEA Party Maui events, and this time he will be discussing why we conservatives are not winning our battles and how to improve our messaging. He will also give us an update on fiscally irresponsible state budgets moving many states to a “Day of Reckoning”.
