A presentation by: Keliʻi Akina, Ph.D., Trustee-at-Large, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, President/CEO, Grassroot Institute

Keliʻi Akina, Ph.D. is a recognized scholar, educator, public policy spokesperson, and community leader in Hawaii. He is currently Trustee-at-Large of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, a state-wide governmental position to which he was elected in 2016 with approximately 164,000 votes.  Dr. Akina is also President/CEO of the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, a public policy think tank dedicated to the principles of individual liberty, free markets and limited, accountable government.  An expert in East-West Philosophy and ethics, Dr. Akina has taught at universities in China and the United States and continues as an adjunct instructor at Hawaii Pacific University.

May Freedom Friday

As a prelude to the Memorial Day Weekend, Please join TEA Party Maui for our May Freedom Friday!

This month’s Freedom Friday social gathering will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 26th, 2017 at Cafe O’ Lei at the Dunes Golf Course, 1333 Maui Lani Parkway in Kahului.

A change of pace from last month’s outing featuring Thai food, Café O’ Lei offers appetizers that can serve as a light dinner, various side dishes, and a wide selection of entrees for dinner. They also have a full bar with beer, wine and other “adult beverages” as Rush Limbaugh would say.  We have reserved a table outdoors.

Come and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow conservatives and join us for an evening of talk story, fun, and good food overlooking the golf course.  Be sure to bring a friend.

Regardless of whether you were an Always-Trump, or a Never-Trump person, you can either share the joy of his election or the relief that this is not the Inaugural of THE OTHER ONE.
Marylyn Holland has graciously agreed to host this party at her house in Kihei and she will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for all to enjoy while watching reruns of Trump’s Inaugural. Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert for everyone to share. It will be great fun!

December Monthly Meeting

Please join us for the final TEA Party Maui Meeting of 2016.

     When: 6:30 PM, Thursday, December 8th, 2016

     Where: The usual hauntGarden Room (entrance at far west end of compound) at Kalama Heights Community Center on 101 Kanani Road (<– click for map)in Kihei.

     What:  In the end, 2016 has turned out to be an exciting year for Tea Party folks, but what will 2017 bring?  Our meeting  will begin with an acknowledgement and appreciation for the service of our 2016 TPM Board of Directors.  We will follow with an announcement of new TPM Board of Directors for 2017, and a discussion of the challenges and preview of changes to the meeting and event schedule for 2017.

Main dishes will be provided by TPM,  but members are welcome to bring their own favorite beverages and/or deserts to share.
